Friday 3.4.20

Here are some activities you could do today:

2 - This Sunday is Palm Sunday which we have talked about in RE. Look at the video and discuss with your family the questions at the end (link below).

3 - We have set 2Do’s on Purple Mash for telling the time. We have set 3 separate activities for Practice, Stretch and Extend. Please feel free to complete all activities if you wish.

Practice - Time - Half past.

Stretch – Time – Quarter past and Quarter to.

Extend – Time – 5 minutes past.

 

Thursday 2.4.20

Here are some suggestions for today’s activities:

1 - Go through the powerpoint we have attached all about Victorian children. We have set a 2Do on Purple Mash to complete a diary entry about life as a Victorian child. Remember to use capital letters and full stops in your writing.

2 - We have set a 2Do for both Phonics groups completing activities on ‘ir’ and ‘ue’ sounds.

3 - Take a picture of your Easter Bonnet for the Easter Parade, some may be included in the schools newsletter!

4 - Bury or hide your time capsule in your garden or house. Check that the date is on it too. We would love to hear some of the things you buried.

 

Wednesday 1.4.20

Here are some ideas for activities today:

1 - Make an array by using the online activity (link below) then answer these questions in your home learning book:

2 - Read a few pages from a book and write down any verbs and adverbs that you find. Remember verbs are doing words, for example, ‘running’, ‘playing’, ‘going’ and adverbs describe how they are doing the verb for example ‘quickly’, ‘happily’, ‘slow’.


3 - Become a nature photographer today, can you use natural items found on your walk or in your garden to create your name? Or items you can find in the house? 

 

Tuesday 31.3.20

Here are some suggestions for today’s activities:

1 - Write some sentences about what is happening for your time capsule. Think about what is going on in the world, what you can and can’t do and how does it make you feel. Make sure to write the date and your name on it so whoever finds it knows when and who it came from.

     Mrs Griffin’s Phonics – To complete the 2Do on Purple Mash for ‘wh’ and ‘ph’ sounds and then compose 4 sentences with ‘wh’ and ‘ph’ sounds. Please feel free to complete both phonics activities.

Monday 30.3.20

1 - We have set a 2Do on Purple Mash to complete. Please find this in the 2Do’s and complete the Fractonio’s Pizzeria game. Also learn your 2, 5 and 10 times table with 2Simple Timetables Toons.

3 - Create a time capsule to mark this historic moment in time. Find a glass or plastic jar and put things in that might be of interest in the future. Print out or find a newspaper headline to put inside the time capsule and any other items that might be interesting for someone in the future to find. This will be an ongoing project for the week and we will continue it tomorrow. Here are some ideas for activities today.

2 - What has happened to your broad bean and daffodil? Draw a picture and write a short description about what you notice and how the spring season will affect its growth.
If you were not able to take home a plant on Friday go into your garden and draw a plant and describe what you notice about it and how the spring season will affect its growth.

4 - 2Do on Purple Mash ‘Lily’s Dog’ to correct the apostrophes for contractions and possession.

 

Thursday 26.3.20

1 - We have set a 2Do on Purple Mash for today. Please find this in the 2Do’s and complete the Bond’s Bubble game. Also learn your 2, 5 and 10 timetables with 2Simple Timetables Toons.

2 - Mrs Griffin phonics group - Watch this video on the phoneme ‘ue’ and compose at least 3 sentences using the ue sound words e.g. glue, clue, argue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLrAGcK26s4  Miss Field phonics group – Watch this video on suffixes ful, less, ly and able and compose at least 4 sentences using a word with one of each suffix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_6mfwXe3Bo.

3 - Build a den out of pillows and blankets and select your favourite books to read in the den.

 

Wednesday 25.3.20

Here are some suggestions for you to do today.3

1 - Write a book review about the story Hansel and Gretel (which we have just been reading). Did you enjoy it? Why? Which was your favourite part and why? Would you recommend the story to a friend? Give it a star rating from 1 – 5, 1 being not very good and 5 being great!

3 - Have you left a message on the purplemash blog?

4 - Read a page in a book and write down any nouns and adjectives. Remember a noun is a naming word e.g. Monday, flower, girl and an adjective is a describing word e.g. beautiful, colourful.
